ORDER

This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioners/A2 to A5 seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.477 of 2015 on the file of Judicial First Class Magistrate, Vizianagaram, for the offences punishable under Sections 498-A, 406, 506 IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, against them.

It is alleged in the charge sheet that A1, at the instigation of A2 to A5, subjected his wife i.e., de facto complainant, to cruelty and harassed her mentally and physically by demanding additional dowry and suspecting her character. Based on the complaint, a case in Cr.No.4 of 2015 u/s. 498-A, 406, 506 IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, was registered against A1 to A5.

3. Heard and perused the material on record. 4.

In view of the serious allegations mentioned in the charge sheet, the matter has to be decided after full fledged trial and therefore, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the presence of petitioners/A2 to A5 before the trial Court is dispensed with except on the dates whenever their presence is insisted by the trial Court and they shall be represented by their counsel.

5. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed.
