THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN WRIT PETITION No. 20511 of 2009 ORDER:

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to declare the action of the third respondent in insisting on the petitioner paying the arrears and charges for power consumption, and in threatening to disconnect power supply, as arbitrary and illegal. An interim order was passed on 23.09.2009 directing the respondents not to disconnect power supply on condition that the petitioner deposits half the demanded amount within a period of two weeks. Thereafter, by order in W.V.M.P.No.1584 of 2010 dated 08.07.2010, this Court, having taken note of the fact that the conditional order passed on 23.09.2009 had not been complied with, and the petitioner had failed to deposit half the demanded amount, vacated the interim order. There is no interim order in the writ petition ever since, for the past nearly seven years. It is evident therefore that the cause in the writ petition does not survive, and the writ petition has become infructuous. The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed. Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
