ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus to set aside the office order dated 20.02.2001 passed by the second respondent with all consequential benefits including arrears. 2.

Heard Sri P. Govinda Rajulu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri P. Durga Prasad, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner was appointed as driver in the respondent Corporation and while he was discharging his duties, the second respondent issued a charge sheet on 21.02.2000 alleging that he misbehaved with his superior officers. He contended that though the petitioner has submitted his explanation, the second respondent without considering the same had initiated disciplinary proceedings and after conducting a detailed enquiry, he imposed the punishment of stoppage of two annual increments with cumulative effect besides treating his suspension period as not on duty vide office order dated 20.02.2001. He further contended that challenging the said order, the petitioner has preferred an appeal on 15.04.2001, but the appellate authority has not passed any orders. 4.

Learned Standing Counsel for the respondents contended that since the appeal preferred by the petitioner is still pending, a

AKS, J W.P.No.22262 of 2002 direction may be issued to the appellate authority to dispose of the same within a reasonable time.

In view of pendency of the appeal before the appellate authority and the submission of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, the Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the appellate authority to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 15.04.2001 as expeditiously as possible, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
