Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record. The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus declaring the proceedings dated 30-06-2008 awarding the diet contract services for supply of diet to the patients at Alimineti Madhava Reddy Area Hospital, Bhongir, from 01-07-2008 to 31-03-2009 to the 5th respondent though the petitioner quoted highest bid at Rs.18/-, which is over and above the amount quoted at Rs.15.98 ps., as illegal and arbitrary and consequently to set aside the same and award the contract to the petitioner. On 28-07-2008, this Court, while admitting the writ petition, granted interim stay of confirmation of the contract to be awarded in favour of the 5th respondent by

the 3rd respondent.

A perusal of the material placed before the Court would show that a tender notification was issued inviting experienced contractors for supply of cooked diet to the patients of the Area Hospital, Bhongir for a period of one year i.e. from 01-07-2008 to 31-03-2009. Since the contract period was for one year and having regard to the fact that the period of time has elapsed, this Court is of the opinion that no cause survives for adjudication in the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. No costs. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed. ___________________ C. PRAVEEN KUMAR, J Date: 04-11-2015 Ksn
