THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION No. 7770 of 2016 ORDER:

The prayer of the petitioners in this case is as under: "That this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents 3 and 5 in harassing the petitioners by calling them to the police station and threatening to settle the disputes with the 6th respondent as illegal, arbitrary and violation of Arts.14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondent police not to interfere with the petitioners' life and liberty and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

2.

The Station House Officer, Mahila Police Station, Visakhapatnam City, furnished written instructions dated 14.03.2016 to the office of the learned Government Pleader for Home, wherein she stated that the sixth respondent approached the police authorities in relation to the family disputes pending between the parties and requested them to conduct counselling. However, no complaint was registered against the petitioners and therefore the Station House Officer stated that the question of interfering with their life and liberty did not arise. 3.

The afore-stated stand of the police authorities is duly taken on record. In the light thereof, this Court finds no reason to adjudicate any issue on merits in this case.

4.

Sri Penumaka Venkata Rao, learned counsel for the petitioners, is also agreeable to the closure of the case.

The Writ Petition is accordingly closed.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
