THE HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE SRI KALYAN JYOTI SENGUPTA PUBLIC INTEREST LITIGATION NO.36 OF 2015 ORDER: (per Hon'ble The Chief Justice Sri Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta) A counter affidavit has been filed by the Commissioner and Special Officer of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, clarifying that the Corporation authorities did not issue instructions to its officials to resort to method like placing garbage dumper bins in front of the buildings of property tax defaulters to build pressure on them for payment of tax dues.

However, after noticing certain incidents, appropriate instructions were issued to all tax collection staff to strictly follow the procedure for collection of property tax from the defaulters.

In view of this, the State does not want to proceed with in the matter. Accepting this clarification, we close the public interest litigation. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
