THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION No.26070 of 2016 ORDER:
The petitioner claims that he was appointed as temporary driver in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams on 20.11.1997. He joined the service on 24.11.1997 and his services were regularized with effect from 01.02.2000. It is his further case that while he was on duty on 16.11.2011 the vehicle which he was driving slipped and ran on the road side margin. He sustained injury to his right eye and he took treatment in Sankara Netralaya Hospital, Chennai. He claims that due to his disability the respondent should have provided alternative suitable job as per Section 47 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. He submitted representations to the respondents on 04.07.2016, 11.07.2016 and 25.07.2016 and when no orders are passed on the said representations, the present Writ Petition is filed.
In view of the above facts, with the consent of the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 04.07.2016, 11.07.2016 and 25.07.2016, and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
