This Court made the following:

ORDER: (Per Hon'ble Sri Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy) This Petition is filed for issue of writ of Habeas Corpus for quashing detention order vide SB(1) No.112/PD/S-I/2015 dated 18.03.2015, passed by respondent No.2 as approved and confirmed by respondent No.1 vide G.O.Rt. No.1423, General Administration (Law & Order) Department, dated 21.05.2015.

A perusal of the record shows that the detenu was detained on 18.03.2015 and the maximum permissible period of detention being one year, under Article 22(4) of the Constitution of India and Section 13 of the Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Boot Leggers, Dacoits, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land Grabbers Act, 1986, the validity of the detention order has expired by efflux of time.

The learned counsel for the petitioner is not present, at the hearing, to inform whether the detenu has been released on the expiry of one year period, from the date of passing of the detention order. We presume that he might have been released by now and, if, for any reason, he is not released, he shall be released forthwith, if he is not otherwise required in connection with any other case.
