ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus declaring the action of respondents in not promoting the petitioner to the post of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) as per her seniority while her juniors were promoted as PGT, as illegal and arbitrary, and sought for a consequential direction to the respondents to promote her as PGT (Maths) as per her seniority from the date on which she is eligible for promotion with all consequential benefits. 2.

Heard Sri Y.V.Ravi Prasad, learned counsel for petitioner and Sri M. Bhupal Reddy, learned Standing Counsel for respondents. 3.

Learned counsel for petitioner contended that the petitioner was originally appointed as Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in the second respondent Society on 12.06.1990 and ever since, she has been discharging her duties to the satisfaction of the superiors. He further contended that the petitioner is fully eligible for next promotional post of PGT, but the respondents have not considered her case and in fact, many of her juniors were promoted as PGT. He further contented that the second respondent society was separated and formed as Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Educational Society and the petitioner is discharging her duties in the first respondent Society since 2003 onwards. Learned counsel also contended that the petitioner has submitted a representation on 17.11.2007, but the respondents have not passed any orders.

Learned Standing Counsel for respondents contended that the case of petitioner for promotion to the post of PGT will be considered as and when the promotional exercise is taken up. 5.

This Court, having considered the rival submissions of both parties, is of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of, directing the respondents to consider the case of petitioner for promotion to the post of PGT and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
