ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "......to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of "Writ of Mandamus" directing the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 5.6.2018 and 11.9.2019 for the appointment of the petitioner and be pleased to pass such other and further order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Heard Sri Mohammed Abdul Qader, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, and learned Government Pleader for Home appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

It is the case of the petitioner that she is the unmarried sister of the deceased Police Constable viz., Yekambaram, who expired on 14.1.2018 while discharging his duties. The deceased was the sole earning member of the entire family. Consequent upon the death of the deceased, the petitioner made representations dated 5.6.2018 and 6.9.2019 to the respondents requesting them to consider her case for appointment on compassionate grounds. But the respondents neither considered the case of the petitioner for appointment

on compassionate grounds nor passed orders on the said representations.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that appropriate orders be passed directing respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representations dated 5.6.2018 and 6.9.2019 submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law. Learned Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submits that the respondents would consider the representations submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the considered view that this Writ Petition can be disposed of directing respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representations dated 5.6.2018 and 6.9.2019 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
