Aggrieved by the inaction of the respondent-police in providing police protection to the petitioner and his family members inspite of oral requests and written complaint dated 20-05-2018, the present writ petition is filed. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home submits that the Station House Officer has no power to grant police protection and further submits that the petitioner has to make application before the competent authority. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty to file application to the 2nd respondent.
In view of the same, the writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to make necessary application to the 2nd respondent and on such application, the 2nd respondent shall consider the same in accordance with law and take action accordingly.
