Heard both sides. With the consent of both parties the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of Mandamus declaring the inaction of the respondents in disposing of the representation dated 10.02.2017 made by the petitioner, as illegal and arbitrary.

Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though he made an application dated 10.02.2017 seeking to consider his citizenship under Section 10(3) of Citizenship Act, till date no orders are passed.

Learned counsel appearing for respondents would submit that if such a representation is filed and is still pending, the same would be considered, in accordance with law.

Having regard to the above, if the said representation dated 10.02.2017, is still pending consideration, the same shall be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Citizenship Act, 1955, at the earliest. No costs.

As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
