O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition.

The alleged inaction on the part of 3rd respondent in considering the application dated 23.09.1996 said to have been filed by the petitioners herein under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, is under challenge in the present writ petition. According to the counsel for the petitioners, despite the disposal of A.S.No.2384 of 1999, no action has been taken on the application submitted by the petitioners herein.

Eventually, request is made by the learned counsel for the petitioners to direct the 3rd respondent to take appropriate action on the said application dated 23.09.1996 strictly in accordance with law. On the other hand, the learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition, submits that if any such application of the petitioners is pending with the respondents, the same would be verified and appropriate action would be taken strictly in accordance with law. Recording the above submission of the learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to cause verification of the application dated 23.09.1996 said to have been submitted by the petitioners and take further action strictly in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
