This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents in not providing employment to the petitioner under compassionate grounds, as his father Dunguroth Bandiga, with Staff No.250728, died in harness, as illegal and arbitrary. Heard Sri M.Madhava Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri A.Ravi Babu, learned standing counsel for the respondent Corporation. It has been contended by the petitioner that his father while working as Helper with Staff No.250728 in the respondent Corporation died in harness on 22.02.2013. Subsequently, the mother of the petitioner submitted an application to the respondents in May, 2013 requesting to provide a suitable employment to the petitioner under Bread Winner Scheme, but the respondents have not passed any orders. In fact, respondent No.
2 has addressed a letter to the petitioner on 30.01.2015 directing to submit necessary certificates, for which the petitioner has submitted necessary documents. But no steps have been taken by the respondents. It has further been contended by the petitioner that he has studied upto 9th class and he possessed valid driving licence and he is eligible even for the post of Driver. Learned standing counsel for the respondent Corporation has contended that the petitioner is not qualified for any suitable post.
AKS,J WP_3412_2015 for the post of Driver as he studied upto 9th class and got valid driving licence, under Bread Winner Scheme, and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of 8 (eight) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed in consequence.
