When this writ petition is listed on 02.02.2018 for hearing, Sri P.Arunakumar, counsel on record, for the petitioner, has represented that he is not appearing for the petitioner. On his representation, this court directed the Office to issue notice to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Registry has sent notice to the petitioner by registered post with acknowledgment due. But the same was returned with an endorsement "not claimed", hence returned to the sender.

This is an old matter of the year 2001. The petitioner has not evinced any interest to prosecute the case. Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. No order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed in consequence.
