HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE CHALLA KODANDA RAM WRIT PETITION No.24022 of 2019 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking Mandamus declaring the action of the Respondent Nos.1 to 5 in not responding to the applications filed by the Petitioners for new Electricity Service Connections to their houses is illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 21 and 14 of the Constitution of India and consequently sought a direction to Respondent Nos.1 to 5 to provide permanent Electricity Service Connections to the houses of the petitioners.

In this writ petition, the petitioners seek individual Service Connections to their houses. It is the assertion of the petitioners that they made applications by enclosing all relevant documents, including the title deeds in respect of the subject premises. It is also the assertion of the petitioners that they are willing to pay any further charges, as may be required by the respondent authorities, pursuant to the written communication, if any, received in that regard. Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent - Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited.

CKR, J W.P.No.24022 of 2019 Learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Company, on instructions, submits that it is only on account of technical reasons, particularly on account of process of erecting the Distribution Transformer, individual Service Connections are not being provided to the petitioners till date and as soon as Distribution Transformer is erected and the same is charged, individual Service Connections would be provided to the petitioners, which is likely to take about six weeks, subject to other unforeseen circumstances. Recording the said submission of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Company, this writ petition is closed. It is made clear that the petitioners shall be provided with individual Service Connections as expeditiously as possible. No order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
