HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE DILIP B. BHOSALE AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO WRIT APPEAL No.97 of 2016 PC: (Per the Hon'ble the Acting Chief Justice Dilip B.Bhosale) This writ appeal is directed against the following order: "Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Government Pleader for Revenue and learned Government Pleader for Social Welfare.

The petitioners seek cancellation of the award which was passed on 29.03.1977 and seek consideration of their representation, dated 11.07.2015.

There is no law which permits cancellation of an award passed under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short, 'the Act') and such request of the petitioners seeking consideration of their representation cannot be acceded to nor there can be a direction to reconvey the lands, as the lands were apparently acquired under the Act, wherein there is no provision for re-conveyance of the acquired lands.

The Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs."

Learned counsel for appellants repeatedly prayed for direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the appellants. It is not possible to issue any such direction for the reasons stated in the impugned order. Hence, appeal is dismissed.

Miscellaneous petitions if any pending shall stand closed. No costs.
