HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION NO.24192 OF 2019 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to renew the passport of the petitioner.

Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents had informed the Court that since a criminal case is pending against the petitioner before the competent criminal court, the petitioner has to approach the said criminal court seeking permission to obtain passport in terms of the policy of the respondents.

This Court, having considered the above submissions, is of the considered view that this writ petition can be disposed of directing the petitioner to approach the competent criminal court, where the criminal case is pending against him, seeking permission to obtain passport.

With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
