Vide order No.HW-3/Arms/974/2015 dated 10.07.2017 passed by the 2nd respondent - Deputy Commissioner of Police, rejecting the request of the petitioner for gun license, petitioner preferred appeal No.CO/8868/17 to the 1st respondent - State of Telangana, represented by its Principal Secretary, Home Department. Aggrieved by the inaction of the 1st respondent, in disposing of the appeal filed by the petitioner, the present writ petition is filed. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home submits that the petitioner was given notice to appear on 11.06.2018, but he failed to appear on the said date. Having regard to the facts and circumstances, without expressing any opinion on merits, writ petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal in accordance with law, after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
