CVNR,J & GSP,J W.A.No.1154 of 2017 JUDGMENT: (Per the Hon'ble Sri Justice C.V.Nagarjuna Reddy) This writ appeal arises out of order, dated 16.08.2017, in W.P.No.26656 of 2017, whereby the learned Single Judge has adjourned the writ petition filed by the appellants by two weeks to enable the respondents to file counter-affidavit.

Mr.J.Sudheer, learned counsel for the appellants, has submitted that the issue relating to the entitlement of the personnel for promotion to the post of the Inspector of Police (Civil) on their putting in service of four years as the Sub-Inspector of Police (Civil) after their transfer from the post of the Reserve Sub-Inspector of Police has been settled by the Division Bench of this Court, vide its common order, dated 22.01.2015, in W.P.No.21172 of 2014 and batch and that G.O.Ms.No.55, Home (Legal) Department, dated 12.05.2016, was also suspended by the Division Bench of this Court, vide its order, dated 23.06.2016, in W.P.No.20089 of 2016. He has, accordingly, submitted that instead of granting an interim order directing the consideration of the case of the appellants for promotion, the learned Single Judge has adjourned the case for filing of counter-affidavit by the respondents.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services (TS) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, has submitted that even if the appellants succeed in the writ petition filed by them, their names will be included in the panel for promotions for the year 2015-16 and that so far, the panel for promotions for the said year has not been prepared. 4.

In the light of the above submissions of the learned counsel for both the parties, we do not find any urgency for passing any order

CVNR,J & GSP,J W.A.No.1154 of 2017 pro tempore, pending the interim application filed by the appellants in W.P.No.26656 of 2017. In view of the same, we are not inclined to entertain the writ appeal at this stage.

The Writ Appeal is, accordingly, dismissed, without expressing our opinion on the merits of the case, with liberty to the appellants to pursue their interlocutory application filed in W.P.No.26656 of 2017 before the learned Single Judge. The appellants are given liberty to move the learned Single Judge for early disposal of the interlocutory application. 6.

As a sequel to dismissal of the writ appeal, W.A.M.P.No.2203 of 2017 filed by the appellants for interim relief shall stand dismissed as infructuous.
