The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the 1st respondent in granting licence vide letter No.AA1/HYD/COMML/Adv.Rights/2007/10247-48, dated 24/28-072007 for installation of LED display at Hyderabad Airport, as illegal and arbitrary.
The subject matter of challenge in the writ petition is with regard to grant of licence for installation of LED display for a period of one year on experimental basis from the date of taking over or till the closure of the existing airport whichever is earlier, as per condition No.1 of the terms and conditions of the licence. However, the said period of one year for which the licence was granted expired long back. Apart from that the Begumpet Airport,
Hyderabad is not in use as on today. Viewed from any angle, this court is of the opinion that the cause in the writ petition no longer survives and the same has become infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs.
