THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN WRIT PETITION No. 22762 of 2009 ORDER:

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to declare the action of the respondents in placing the petitioner at the 14th place by giving priority 39-I, instead of first place by giving priority 18th, though the petitioner had participated in two international events, as arbitrary and illegal; and to direct the respondents to place the petitioner in the first place by giving 18th priority as per G.O.Ms.No.20 dated 03.05.2006 in the 2nd Sports and Games Merit List 2010 for admission into M.B.B.S/B.D.S course. The change, in the priority sought for, relates to admission for M.B.B.S/B.D.S courses for the Academic Year 2009-10, more than seven years ago. As there was no interim order in the writ petition, the petitioner's case may have not been considered.

As the admission sought for relates to the year 2009-10, nearly seven years ago, the cause in this writ petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court. The writ petition fails and is, accordingly, dismissed. Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
