THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN and THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE U. DURGA PRASAD RAO WRIT PETITION No.26166 of 2016 ORDER: (per VRS, J) Petitioners have come up with the above Writ Petition seeking a mandamus to declare the action of the respondents in issuing G.O.Ms.No.24, dated 22.03.2016 and the notification issued by the third respondent calling for admissions to MBBS Course as illegal and contrary to law.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the respondents.

By G.O.Ms.No.24, Health, Medical and Family Welfare (C1) Department, dated 22.03.2016, the Government issued amendments to G.O.Ms.No.120, dated 23.08.2014.

The amendments were consequent upon the judgment of this Court dated 19.08.2015 in Writ Petition Nos.25586 and 26125 of 2015, and that of the Supreme Court dated 21.09.2015 in SLP (Civil) Nos.25080 and 25081 of 2015.

Unfortunately, for the petitioners, the admissions to the undergraduate Medical Courses for the current year were over. The Government Order challenged in this Writ Petition was

VRS, J & UDPR, J W.P.No.26166 of 2016 dated 22.03.2016. The petitioners came up with the Writ Petition at the last minute in August 2016. The petitioners were not granted any interim order and the admissions for the current academic year were over. Therefore, the Writ Petition has virtually become infructuous. Hence, the same is closed. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
