HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No.24721 of 2019 ORDER :

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief :- "......to issue a Writ, Order or Direction particularly a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to promote the petitioners as Panchayat Secretaries Grade-II by taking the eligibility criteria of completing one year as of July and August 2018 as envisaged in G.O.Ms.No.773 Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (Pts.VI) Department, dated 14.12.2017 within a specified time......"

Heard Sri Ch. Venkat Raman, learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Services-II. It has been contended by the petitioners that they are working as Panchayat Secretaries Grade-III and they are fully eligible and qualified to be promoted to the posts of Panchayat Secretary Grade-II.

The grievance of the petitioners is that the respondents are not considering their cases for promotion to the posts of Panchayat Secretary Grade-II in terms of G.O.Ms.No.773, dated 14.12.2017.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners contended that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing the respondents to consider the cases of the petitioners for promotion to the posts of Panchayat Secretary Grade-II in terms

AKS, J W.P.No.24721 of 2019 of G.O.Ms.No.773, dated 14.12.2017 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

Learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has contended that the cases of the petitioners will be considered in terms of G.O.Ms.No.773 dated 14.12.2017 and appropriate orders would be passed in accordance with law. This Court, having considered the rival submissions of the learned counsel for the respective parties, is of the considered view that this writ petition can be disposed of directing the respondents to consider the cases of petitioners for promotion to the posts of Panchayat Secretary Grade-II in terms of G.O.Ms.No.773, dated 14.12.2017 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, in this writ petition shall stand closed.
