Heard the counsel for petitioners, and the learned Government Pleader for Forests for respondents. 2.

The petitioners herein are alleged to have committed certain forest offence and a Forest Offence No.131/15-16 is pending before the 2nd respondent.

The petitioners allege that they wish to compound the said offence which is permissible under Rules 5 to 13 of the Andhra Pradesh Forest Offences (Compounding and Prosecution) Rules, 1969, and that they requested the 2nd respondent to compound the said offence under Rule 5 but he has not passed any orders thereon. 4.

The learned Government Pleader for Forests (Andhra Pradesh) states that the application for compounding has not been filed by petitioners. 5.

In this view of the matter, the petitioners are directed to file an application seeking compounding of the offences mentioned in Forest Offence No.131/15-16 before the 2nd respondent within two (02) weeks from the

date of receipt of a copy of the order, and the 2nd respondent shall pass orders thereon within two (02) weeks from the date of receipt of application from petitioners. Accordingly the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
