Heard Mr. C. Raghu for petitioner and Mr. Vinod Reddy for respondents.

Petitioner challenges charging interest of an amount of Rs.35,560/ - on arrears of Rs.24,459/ - vide Cash Memo Sc MNo.237, Distribution dated 18.11.2016 wherein an amount of Rs.1,30,619/ - has been demanded as illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional.

Petitioner further submits that on account of non-payment of the amount referred to in the writ prayer, the service connection is already disconnected.

Learned counsel for petitioner confines his submissions, firstly, for grant of installment and secondly, facilitate the petitioner to run the industry and pay back arrears.

This Court is of the view that these are matters in the exclusive discretion of respondents. The fact of the matter is due to disconnection, the petitioner is unable to undertake the operations. Therefore, to meet the ends of justice, I am satisfied the writ petition can be disposed of by this order:
a) Petitioner is given liberty to represent to respondents for restoration and installments of amount demanded in the writ petition within one week from today.
b) Petitioner is directed to deposit a sum of Rs.65,000/ - (Rupees Sixty Five Thousand Only) within one week from today and enclose to the representation the proof of payment of Rs.65,000/ - (Rupees Sixty Five Thousand Only).
c) On such representation, being made, the respondents are directed to restore the power supply to petitioner and dispose of the representation within four (4) weeks thereafter. It is made clear that once the power supply is restored, the petitioner is under obligation to pay the current consumption charges.
The writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
