HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V.AFZULPURKAR W.P.No.6180 of 2015 ORDER:

Heard.

The petitioner herein seeks protection for herself and her husband and made an application before the 2nd respondent on 07-032015 and also marked copies to various authorities including the 4th respondent. She states that she got married to one Keerthan Kumar Kashaf on 25-02-2015 at Arya Samaj and it is a love marriage and since the petitioner and her husband are from different communities, the petitioner's relatives are threatening both of them. Hence, the petitioner sought protection.

Learned Government Pleader has received instructions, wherein it is stated that whereabouts of the petitioner are not known to the respondent police and if the petitioner approaches the 4th respondent or informs about her whereabouts, necessary action will be taken, after conducting preliminary enquiry, based on the merits of the case.

Apparently, the Police are required to ensure that the petitioner and her husband are duly protected, if threat perception persists from the relatives, as claimed by the petitioner.

Hence, the petitioner is given liberty to approach the 4th respondent and make a detailed representation regarding threat perception, which shall be examined by the 4th respondent and necessary appropriate steps shall be taken by the 4th respondent expeditiously.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
