THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.1382 OF 2017 ORDER:

By order dated 15.03.2017, W.P.No.33135 of 2016 was disposed of directing the respondent - Bank to consider the request of the petitioner for grant of compassionate pension and to pass appropriate orders as warranted by law by assigning due reasons in support of the decision. Alleging inaction in complying with the said directions, this Contempt Case is filed. 2.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned standing counsel for the respondent - Bank produced a copy of the order dated 05.05.2017 whereunder the request of the petitioner for provision of compassionate pension was considered and rejected.

In view of the same, it cannot be said that there is disobedience of the directions issued by this Court warranting initiation of contempt proceedings.

The Contempt Case is accordingly closed. However, it is needless to observe that if the petitioner is aggrieved by the decision taken by the respondent - Bank, he is at liberty to work out his remedies as available in law.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, filed in this Contempt Case shall stand closed.
