When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has expired on 09.09.2013 and the respondents have already settled the pensionary benefits. Therefore, this Court is of the view that the cause in the writ petition does not survive and, accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.

Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition shall stand closed.
