When this matter is taken up, none appeared for the petitioner.

The present writ petition is filed challenging the notice dated 2.8.2002 issued by the respondent to the petitioner to retire from the post of Clerk.

On 27.9.2002, this Court while admitting the writ petition, issued an interim direction to the respondent not to remove the petitioner from service and to continue him till the date of his superannuation. The material on record goes to show that the petitioner attained the age of superannuation long back. Therefore, the cause in this writ petition does not survive. 4.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
