The present writ petition came to be filed seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not considering the representations, dated 13.07.2016, 20.08.2016 and 02.04.2017, made by the petitioner seeking information with regard to certain aspects i.e., what are the books being taught by the private schools?, whether the said books are supplied by the Government of Andhra Pradesh or not and if any books other than the Government supplied books are being taught, what action the District Educational Officer has taken in this regard? 2.

Learned Government Pleader for Education would submit that if really the petitioner wants any information, he can always invoke the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 (for short, "the R.T.I. Act") instead of seeking information by way of representations.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner may be permitted to invoke the provisions of the R.T.I. Act.

Having regard to the above, the petitioner may avail the remedy of invoking the provisions of the R.T.I. Act and seek the required information, if so advised, in which event, the same shall be dealt with in accordance with law.

With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
