Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Assistant Solicitor General for the Union of India for the respondent. 2.

According to the petitioners, they are the Freedom Fighters participated in the Hyderabad Liberation Movement and they applied for Freedom Fighters Pension under Swantantrata Sainik Samman Pension Scheme 1980 and the Hyderabad Special Screening Committee also recommended their cases for grant of pension. It is further stated in the writ affidavit that pursuant to a letter addressed by the Government of India on 21.01.1999, 01.02.2001 and 18.06.2002 the State Government vide Lr.No.32023/FF.10\-A(1)/2003, dated 14.08.2003 and Lr.No.18476/FF-IIA2/2002 dated 11.07.2002 forwarded verification reports as desired by the Union of India, recommending sanction of pension under the said scheme. 3.

The complaint of the petitioner in the present writ petition precisely is that despite the said recommendations made by the State Government no action has been taken by the respondents herein. No counter affidavit has been filed by the respondents.

This Court does not find any justification on the part of the respondent in not processing the applications of the petitioners for grant of Freedom Fighters Pension despite the recommendations of the State Government vide letter dated 14.08.2003 and 11.07.2002 as mentioned supra. 5.

For the aforesaid reasons, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondent herein to take further action pursuant to the letters of the State Government vide Lr.No.32023/FF.10\-A(1)/2003, dated 14.08.2003 and

Lr.No.18476/FF-II-A2/2002 dated 11.07.2002 for sanction of pension in favour of the petitioners under the Swantantrata Sainik Samman Pension Scheme, as per law. This exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order. As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
