Petitioners claim to have worked on contract basis prior to regularization of their services in the year 2002. Petitioners now seek that past service rendered by them on contract basis prior to regularization also be computed as qualifying service to grant post retirement benefits. Ventilating their grievance and requesting to compute the service rendered by them on contract basis, they submitted representation dated 20.03.2018, which seems to have been acknowledged by the office of respondent - Corporation on 29.03.2018. Alleging inaction on the said representation, this Writ Petition is filed.

Having regard to the claim of the petitioners that representation submitted by them was pending consideration, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondent - Corporation to examine the claim of the petitioners as regards their past service on contract basis till regularization of their services for the purpose of retirement benefits and to pass appropriate orders as warranted by law by assigning due reasons in support of its decision and communicate the said decision to the petitioners as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
