HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.43833 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking to call for the records relating to Crime No.137 of 2016 of Katrenikona Police Station, East Godavari District and to quash the same.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

The case of the petitioners is that the 4th respondent has lodged a complaint before the 3rd respondent, which was registered as Crime No.137 of 2016 alleging that her marriage was done with 1st petitioner on 12.08.2009 and her parents gave dowry of Rs.1,50,000/- and 1⁄2 soverns gold to 1st petitioner and his parents. After marriage, they lived happily for some time and during their lawful wedlock they were blessed with two children. Later, the 1st petitioner and his family members started harassing her both mentally and physically by demanding additional dowry. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners never harassed the 4th respondent for additional dowry and that basing on the complaint lodged by 4th respondent, the 3rd respondent is trying to arrest the petitioners.

Considering the grievance of the petitioners, the 3rd respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.137 of 2016 of Katrenikona Police Station, East Godavari District, as expeditiously as possible and file a final report, if any, either way in accordance with law, without arresting the petitioners.
