This Criminal Petition, under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioners/A4 and A5 for grant of anticipatory bail in Crime No.125 of 2019 of Adilabad II Town Police Station, Adilabad District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 420 IPC and Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent-State and perused the material available on record.

The allegations levelled against the petitioners are grave in nature and that the involvement of the petitioners in transporting PDS rice illegally is apparent on the face of record. The investigation is still in progress and hence, if the petitioners are granted anticipatory bail, there is every possibility of their causing hindrance in the investigation and tampering the evidence. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. 4.
