THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.22279 of 2017 ORDER:

This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, came to be filed seeking to declare the inaction of respondent Nos.2 to 6 in completing investigation in crime No.784 of 2016 of Rajendranagar Police Station registered for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 406 and 506 of Indian Penal Code against R-7 and R-8, as illegal and arbitrary.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home. With their consent, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself. Since this Court is not going into the merits of the case, there is no necessity to issue notice to unofficial respondents herein. The limited grievance of the petitioner is that though crime No.784 of 2016 was registered on 30.08.2016, the respondents-Police have not completed the investigation till date. Having regard to the facts in issue and since the crime is registered in the month of August, 2016, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents-Police to complete investigation and file a final report in crime No.784 of 2016, as early as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Miscellaneous petitions pending in this writ petition, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
