HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SURESH KUMAR KAIT & HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI W.P. No. 22938 of 2018 O R D E R:- (ORAL) (Per Hon'ble Sri Justice Suresh Kumar Kait) This writ petition is filed challenging the orders dated 27.06.2016 and 09.08.2016 in O.A.No. 507 of 2016 passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad Bench, Hyderabad.

The respondent filed O.A.No. 507 of 2016 seeking a direction to the petitioners to consider his case for promotion to the post of Controller in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), and the Tribunal, by order dated 27.06.2016, granted interim direction not to fill up the post for a limited period, and subsequently, by order dated 09.08.2016, extended the interim direction till further orders.

The learned Assistant Solicitor General of India appearing on behalf of the petitioners-Government, submits that after the interim order was passed, the petitioners filed an application in M.A.No. 1030 of 2016 in O.A.No. 507 of 2016 seeking to vacate the interim order dated 27.06.2016, wherein pleadings are complete, however neither the M.A. nor O.A. has been decided till date.

Even though O.A. was filed by the respondent in the year 2016, however, keeping in view the post of Controller,

SKK,J & AKS,J WP_22938_2018 which is an important position in a research centre, we deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the Tribunal to dispose of O.A.No. 507 of 2016 if not M.A.No. 1030 of 2016, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any pending, shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
