WRIT PETITION NOs.2730, 2742, 2685, 2673, 2753 & COMMON ORDER:

These writ petitions are filed praying to grant the following relief:

"to issue a writ, order or direction preferably a writ petition in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to provide a suitable jobs in the Department of Railways according to the qualifications of the respective petitioners as promised by the then Minister for Railways immediately after the fire accident which took place to Gowthami Express Train on 31.07.2009, similarly as promised and provide jobs to the victims in the accident of Delta Fast Passenger."

The docket entries in W.P.No.7241 of 2011 would disclose that on 24.08.2016 when the matter was called, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner. To give one more chance, the case was directed to be listed on 26.08.2016 under the caption of 'dismissal'. On 26.08.2016 also, there was no representation. However, to give one more opportunity and since the learned standing counsel for Railways also represented that some more writ petitions are pending on the same issue, the Office was directed to list all the writ petitions concerning the same issue on 08.09.2016. On 08.09.2016 also, there was no representation. To give final opportunity matters are directed to be listed to this day under the caption of 'dismissal'. Today also, when the matters are called, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioners. 3.

In spite of granting sufficient time, no one appeared on behalf of the petitioners.

According to the learned standing counsel, there is no scheme for provision of compassionate appointment to the dependents of the persons, who died in Railway accidents. This may be the reason why, petitioners are not interested in prosecuting the writ petitions.

Writ petitions are accordingly dismissed.

No costs.

Miscellaneous petitions if any pending in these writ petitions shall stand closed.
