ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "...to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus duly setting aside the impugned order issued by the 3rd respondent without notice vide Proc.

No.432/Ser.T/A2/2017, dated 14.07.2017 as being arbitrary, illegal, discriminatory, opposed to the principles of natural justice and in violation of Article of the Constitution of India and further be pleased to hold that the petitioners are entitled to the benefits sanctioned vide Proc.No.343/Ser.T/A2/2017, dated 07.07.2017 of the 3rd respondent with all consequential benefits by considering the representation submitted by the petitioners in this regard and to pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Heard Sri V.Ravi Chandran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Sri Thimothi, learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondent-University.

The 1st petitioner is working as Principal Scientist and 2nd petitioner is working as Professor in the respondentUniversity. Their grievance is that though they are entitled to reckon their eligibility as Professors with effect from 30.01.2013, the said benefit is not being extended to them. Hence, the petitioners submitted individual representations to the respondent-University on 16.10.2019, but, But so far no orders have been passed thereon.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners contended that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing the respondent-University to consider the individual representations dated 16.10.2019 submitted by the petitioners. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents contended that since the representations dated 16.10.2019 submitted by the petitioners are pending with the respondent-University, the respondent-University would consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law.

Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the considered view that this Writ Petition can be disposed of directing the respondent-University to consider the representations dated 16.10.2019 submitted by the petitioners and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, pending, if any shall stand closed.
