THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE CHALLA KODANDA RAM WRIT PETITION No.25298 of 2017 ORDER:
The grievance of the petitioner is that respondent No.3 who is the Sub-Inspector of Police, Ponnur Rural, Guntur District, is threatening the petitioner to compromise with the unofficial respondents 4 & 5 to perform the marriage of the petitioner's daughter, who is minor, as illegal, arbitrary and in violation of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that the allegation made is not true and the petitioner was never threatening by respondent No.3 to compromise with the unofficial respondents 4 & 5.

In view of the respective submissions making it clear that threatening the petitioner to compromise with the unofficial respondents 4 & 5 would in violation of the petitioner's right guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. If the allegations of the petitioner are found to be true subsequently, the respondent-authorities particularly respondent No.3 would be liable for prosecution for contempt apart from there being prosecuted for threatening the petitioner to compromise with the unofficial respondents 4 & 5 to perform the marriage of the petitioner's daughter, who is minor, in terms of the provisions of IPC. 4.
With the above observation, the writ petition is closed. No costs and as a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
