THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO CONTEMPT CASE No.1715 OF 2018 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Government Pleader for Services - III appearing for the respondents.

This Court, by order dated 18.12.2017 in W.P.No.42817 of 2017, directed the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners as per the re-allotment list furnished by the APPSC in respect of the notification No.10 of 1999 and issue necessary orders for relieving/admission of the affected candidates as per the said list pending further orders.

Alleging violation of the said directions, this Contempt Case is filed.

According to learned Government Pleader, steps were taken for appointment of the petitioners as per their eligibility; call letters were issued to them; their physical examination was conducted and process was set in motion to issue appointment orders. In the meantime, the Supreme Court passed orders on 24.07.2018 by appointing a Retired Judge, Sri C.K. Thakker, of the Supreme Court to assist the Court and granted three months time to submit his report to the Court. The Supreme Court further directed the Chief Secretaries of the State of Andhra Pradesh and the State of Telangana to maintain status quo as on that date. Therefore, no further directions can be issued at this stage and the respondents

cannot be held guilty when the matter is seized by the Supreme Court on the same issue.

The Contempt Case is accordingly closed granting liberty to the petitioners to take appropriate steps after the Supreme Court disposes of the Contempt Case filed before it. ____________________ P. NAVEEN RAO, J Date:10.08.2018 KH
