The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:
"To issue any appropriate writ order or direction more particularly one in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd Respondent not to cancel the lease granted in favour of the petitioner for a period of 10 years from 16-07-1996 to 15-07-2006 in pursuance of the proceedings of the Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, Vijayawada in his proceedings No. 910/Q/95 dated 3.4.1996 by declaring the action of the Respondents as illegal and void" 2.
This Court, while ordering rule nisi on 24.9.2003, granted interim direction as prayed for.

Due to efflux of time, the lease period also came to an end in the year 2006, as such, nothing survives in the Writ Petition for further adjudication. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed.
