SIVA SANKARA RAO Writ Appeal No.869 of 2008 JUDGMENT: (per Hon'ble Sri Justice R.Kantha Rao) Learned counsel appearing on both sides would submit that during the pendency of this Appeal, the State Government has taken a comprehensive view of the matter and passed orders through their G.O.Ms.No.246, Higher Education (U.E.I) Department, dated 21.10.2008 amending The Pension Rules for the University Teachers, 1992 by accepting the request of the Andhra Pradesh Federation of University Teachers' Association to calculate the pension up to the age of 60 years instead of 58 years. Accordingly, the amendments to The Pension Rules for the University Teachers, 1992 were also notified.

2. In this view of the matter, the cause in this Appeal does not survive for adjudication as the relief sought for by the writ petitioner has since been accorded by the State itself.

3. Hence, the Writ Appeal stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the miscellaneous applications, if any shall also stand dismissed.
