THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.15318 of 2009 ORDER:

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to declare the action of respondent Nos. 4 to 8 in interfering with the petitioner's fishing rights and water source including canals and drains as arbitrary, illegal and contrary to G.O. Ms. No. 776 dated 31.12.1990 and Memo dated 10.4.2006.

The petitioner's claim that they are entitled for fishing rights for 1419 Fasli by collecting lease/licence fee as per the procedure in vogue. 1419 Fasli relates to the year 2009, which expired eight years ago. The cause in the writ petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court.

The writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. The miscellaneous petitions, pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
