THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR CONTEMPT CASE NO.1769 OF 2016 ORDER:

This contempt case was instituted alleging willful disobedience to the order dated 10.02.2016 passed in W.P.No.4071 of 2016. By the said order, the police authorities were directed to take appropriate action upon the petitioner's complaints dated 06.05.2013, 28.05.2013, 17.01.2014 and 06.11.2015 in the light of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in LALI TA KUMARI V/ s. GOVERNMENT OF UTTAR PRADESH1. The Superintendent of Police, Khammam District, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kothagudem Division, Khammam District, and the Circle Inspector of Police, Kothagudem (Rural), Julurpad, filed their counteraffidavits. The gist of these counter-affidavits is that on the strength of the complaints made by the petitioner, Crime No.140 of 2016 was registered on the file of Julurpad Police Station, Khammam District, under Sections 447 and 507 IPC.

In the light of these counter-affidavit averments which remain unrebutted, the inaction alleged against the police authorities does not hold water.
