Petitioner was appointed as Field Assistant on contract basis initially for a period of one year and renewed from time to time. However, the renewal was not granted in August, 2015. Consequent to judgment of this Court in a batch of Writ Petitions, a Committee was constituted and on review of the performance of petitioner by the Committee, vide order dated 28.07.2016, the request of petitioner for renewal of contract for employment was rejected. This Writ Petition is filed challenging the said rejection and seeking appointment as Field Assistant.

Learned Special Standing Counsel, on instructions, submits that as the contract of the petitioner was over and not renewed later, another person, by name, Sri N. Suresh, was appointed on 06.05.2017 as Senior Mate and entrusted the responsibilities of the post held by petitioner earlier and the status of the village is brought down to category II.

Having regard to these facts, the prayer sought by the petitioner cannot be granted.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that representation dated 22.03.2017 was made by petitioner to the Commissioner, Rural Development, Vijayawada, Krishna District, the 2nd respondent, seeking appointment as Field Assistant.

In view of the said submission, it is open to the petitioner to pursue the representation dated 22.03.2017 submitted by him. It is also made clear that for the period of service rendered by the petitioner, salary shall be drawn and paid to him. 7.
The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
