HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO

WRIT PETITION No.15476 OF 2015 ORDER:

Petitioner is an association representing the Scheduled Tribe persons of Appalammagudem village, Tripuraram Mandal, Nalgonda District. The grievance of the petitioner association is that under the 'Indira Jala Prabha' scheme, wells were dug, but the petitioner is unable to utilize the wells so dug since the electrical lines are not provided and there is no power available for installing electric motors. When enquired, petitioner was informed by the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) that the District Water Management Agency and Rural Development Department have to provide necessary funds to the TSSPDCL to undertake the required work and so far no funds are made available.

Having waited for considerable time and with an anxiety of up-coming agricultural season, petitioner association has submitted a representation on 28.04.2015 to the District Collector and copies were also marked to the Commissioner, Rural Development Department and the Project Director, District Water Management Agency, but so far said representation is not acted upon. On account of up-coming of agricultural season, if power is not provided, grave prejudice would be caused to the petitioner association and defeats the very purpose of the scheme launched by the State.

2 Having regard to the fact that representation submitted by the petitioner association is pending consideration by the competent authority, the writ petition is disposed of without expressing any opinion on merits, directing the respondents 2 to 4 to consider the request made by the petitioner association as well as request made by the 7th respondent in their letter dated

29.09.2014 to the 5th respondent and take appropriate steps with reference to making available the requisite funds as requested by 7th respondent as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, in this writ petition shall stand dismissed. No costs.
