ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents 2 to 5 in not rectifying the Seniority List of the petitioner from S.L.No.678 to the actual Seniority in the List Memorandum C.No.E1/05/2016, dated 21/11/2016 is illegal, arbitrary and against the rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India and pass such other order or orders may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."
Heard Sri Ch.Venkat Raman, learned counsel for the petitioner, and learned Government Pleader for Home appearing for the respondents.
It is the case of the petitioner that he is working as Circle Inspector of Police. He was shown at Sl.No.538 in the seniority list dated 17-08-2014. Later, the seniority list has been altered and he was shown at Sl.No.678 vide proceedings dated 21.11.2016. Hence, he submitted representations dated 25.09.2018 and 07.11.2019 to the respondents requesting them to restore his seniority at Sl.No.538 instead of Sl.No.678. But, so far, no orders have been passed thereon.
Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing the
respondents to consider the representations dated 25.09.2018 and 07.11.2019 submitted by the petitioner.
Learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents contended that since the representations dated 25.09.2018 and 07.11.2019 submitted by the petitioner are pending with the respondents, the respondents would consider the same and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.
Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representations dated 25.09.2018 and 07.11.2019 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, pending, if any, shall stand closed. No orders as to costs.
