HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN AND THE HON'BLE MS.JUSTICE J. UMA DEVI WRIT PETITION No.24491 OF 2018 ORDER: (per V. Ramasubramanian, J) Aggrieved by the refusal of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh to recognize a certificate of participation at the National Level, produced by the petitioner, in a particular Sport, the petitioner has come up with the above writ petition.
2. Heard Mr. P. Nagendra Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Taddi Negeswar Rao, learned Standing Counsel for the University.
3. The petitioner claims to have participated in a game known as "Teakwondo." According to her, she participated in the game at the National Level and that appropriate priority was not given to her under the quota reserved for sports persons for admission to Medical courses.
4. The last date for admission to medical courses for the current academic year was over on 31.08.2018. Therefore, no relief can be granted to the petitioner at this stage.
5. It is claimed by the learned counsel for the petitioner that at least compensation can be granted. But, we do not find any basis for the claim of the petitioner that an injustice has been done to her. Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed.
6. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
