HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.V. SESHA SAI WRIT PETITION No.24506 of 2018 ORDER :

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking following relief:

"...to issue a Writ, Order or Direction particularly in the nature of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and grant passenger transport permit for 150 autos for plying in the GHMC limits by declaring the action of the first respondent in rejecting the proposal of the 2nd respondent for grant of 150 new auto permits to the members of the petitioner association as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14, 16 and 19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India in the interest of justice and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper."

Heard Sri G.Ramachandra Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, and learned Government Pleader for respondents. 3.

A perusal of the material discloses that the Commissioner addressed a letter bearing No.3502/R/2017, dated 26.08.2017, forwarding the request of the petitioner herein to the State Government.

According to the petitioner, no further action has been taken by the 1st respondent-State government till date. 5.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to

the 1st respondent to take a decision pursuant to the letter, dated 26.08.2017, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed. No costs.
